Adriane Colvin: Fire Bearer, Performer, and Advocate for Transformation
Adriane Colvin has been lighting up her world both literally and figuratively her whole life! A dynamic force in the worlds of performance art, social services, advocacy, and education, she has made it her mission to blend creativity with meaningful impact.
In 2004, she founded Fire Muse Circus, a high energy troupe for performance innovation. As a producer, director, fire performer and aerialist, she has brought full-scale circus productions to life. Fire Muse Circus has become a launchpad for emerging talent, pushing the boundaries of the world of fire and flow arts. An early pioneer in Salt Lake City’s fire dancing community, Adriane has played a key role in shaping the scene, from organizing major events to influencing Utah’s fire artist accreditation laws in 2012. She’s also one of small group of Utah state-licensed fire artisans authorized to train and certify new performers in fire safety, because nothing says “badass” like making sure people can safely play with fire.
Beyond the stage, Adriane is passionate about teaching, coaching and mentoring in Circus Arts. She discovered that aerial movement isn’t just a breathtaking art form, it is a powerful tool for personal transformation. Her unique teaching style helps students of all ages break through fears, rewrite limiting patterns, and unleash their full potential.
Her role as President of the Church of Fire and Flow, reflects a shared mission and dedication to the flow arts community through education, legitimacy, and global expansion. For decades, she has worked with founder Clayton Allred and other leaders to create opportunities for artistic and professional growth. She is expanding fire’s sacred role through rituals and rites of passages like weddings, births, celebrations and counseling services. Through these offerings, she seeks to honor the element of fire for transformation, rapid growth, and connection. She holds to the sacred covenant of fire honoring traditions surrounding fire and merging ancient wisdom with a modern, evolving world.
